With the return of 1990s style blow outs, haircare tutorials are proving very popular on TikTok. And since roughly 43% of TikTok’s global audience is between 18-24 years—and weren’t even born when these styles were de rigueur—they can use insight on what’s needed to protect their strands.
Heat protection is important when it comes to tools like blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons/wands, noted Nicole Epps, scientist and scientific communications manager for P&G Hair, Cleveland, OH. She cites Aussie’s Total Miracle Heat Protecting Spray—infused with apricot and Australian macadamia oil—as a popular haircare product within the P&G styling portfolio. The Heat Protecting Spray acts as a barrier between hair and the heat of blow drying, straightening and curling.
Aussie Packaging Makeover
The Aussie hair care collection recently revamped its packaging to reflect the products’ styling benefits. The P&G-owned company held a 90’s-themed media event on Jan. 24 in New York City to showcase Aussie’s sprays, mousses and more.
Sustainability is still at the forefront for Aussie. The brand was certified by PETA in 2019, as reported in Happi.

90’s Beauty Styles
Celebrity stylist Damian Monzillo was on location at the #aussome media event to create hairstyles with Aussie products. Happi had a turn in the chair and enjoyed first-hand the styling creations including Aussie’s Instant Volume Volumizing Spray Gel and Mega Hair Spray.
